Up for sale is a unique Sunrader project.
The shell/ camper is from a late 70s 18’ rear dinette. It has been installed on a modified 2000 Toyota Tundra chassis.
One could claim that most of the hard work has been done.
The frame of the Tundra has been (professionally) lengthened by approximately 13” as well as brake lines, fuel lines, wiring, and the e-brake cable. The truck has been fitted with a custom lengthened driveshaft. There is no related mechanical work that remains to be completed for this portion of the build aside from wiring in brake lights.
The Sunrader is an “Indiana build” Sunrader. This is unique in that it doesn’t have the “wrap around” corner windows that are prone to leaking. The camper has been gutted. It sits on a 1” steel square tubing frame that supports the entire width of the camper underside. This frame is bolted to the truck frame on polyurethane bushings.
The cab of the truck has been cut open to allow for a typical motorhome “pass through” This work has been “roughed in” and some finishing is required on both the cab and the shell.
The vehicle is not roadworthy although the shell is loosely mounted to the truck, effectively to verify fitment. The truck has a major title issue. When I purchased it I did not notice the seller had accidentally signed the buyer line and as such further complicates what would, in a best case scenario, be a challenging title process.
For the right person, this is a great project. Unfortunately I don’t believe that person is me as I have neglected to touch it in several years. I am open to offers. Please contact me for photos and additional information.
